A school day that is not spent entirely on a call

An online school that keeps a student on camera from morning to evening is not a school. It is a queue. The Kings day has live lessons, and it has hours that are deliberately quiet.
The spine
Live classes sit at predictable times. A student in a sport programme can see those times before the term starts, which is the point of athlete support: the academic week is designed, not improvised around a fixture list.
The quiet hours
Between classes, students complete the set work, read, or meet a teacher for a short check-in. Clubs meet on published afternoons. Personal counselling is booked, not squeezed into the last five minutes of a lesson.
Flexible learning means the week can fit more than one time zone. It does not mean the week has no shape.
